It's a . . . . . .
It's a girl . . . a very stubborn, modest girl that didn't want to show the goods! What a little stinker already. We went to my doctor appointment this afternoon, and the baby would not move her legs so that we could get a good view. So-oooo, I made Brian take me to "Gender Ultrasound" at the mall for another look. It took some serious shaking and proding to get this little one to move, but finally, we got the money shot. Yep, Neeley was right - a baby "sissa". She knew all along, we just didn't listen.
Anyway, I am excited. Surprised, but excited. It's just hard to picture us with two girls! CRAZY!!!! I'll post pictures tomorrow, but I am exhausted tonight - too much dinner!

Fun with Cousins
Sick Emma (she slept on my bed all day.)
I meant to post these pictures when I took them, but got sidetracked doing who knows what?! My attention span is about gonzo right now. Anyway, a couple of weeks ago I tended Jadon and Jacob, and Emma and Gauge. Poor little Emma was sick, but the other kids had fun (I think?). Neeley was so excited to have so many kids to play with!

More, Yes MORE, Pictures of Neeley
These are just a few pictures of Neeley digging in her new sandbox. She refused to take off her sunglasses. What a stylin' little chica!
Daddy was making her giggle. Nothing makes my heart smile like watching Neeley and Brian!
(note to Mom: doesn't the picture above look like Nils when he was that age? Weird coincidence since she is the "little girl identical twin" of her daddy.)

The 'Birthday Week' Finale
Such serious faces! I don't know why these two aren't smiling?!? We really did have a super fun time. Neeley would have been content just watching two or three of the animals all day long. She would get so mad when we would make her move on to another part of the zoo. She especially loved the turkeys, elephants, and zebras. Oh, and cotton candy! She watched an elephant poop, and that is all she has talked about. It was impressive - and absolutely disgusting. I couldn't watch, but Neeley and Brian enjoyed the "show". Here's my little animal lover. She hugged and kissed and squeezed this poor little leopard for half an hour, but she ended up choosing a white, yes white alligator. They shouldn't be allowed to make white stuffed animals, no matter how cute they are. It stayed white for about half a second.
And this is the most traumatic picture of all. We started walking into the "Small Animal and Reptile Building" and Neeley caught a whiff of what was to come. She was dry heaving before we even made it through the second set of doors. She is so sensitive to any gross smell and quite the little gagger. I know I have a warped sense of humor, but it was funny. You should have seen her little face. Priceless!
Happy Birthday Neeley Bug!
p.s. Thanks for the monkey 'backpack', Grandma Annie! It's pretty much the coolest invention ever!

More 'Happy Birthday' in Monticello
Brian has been working in Monticello and Blanding for the last month, so Neeley and I went down and stayed with him for a week. On Neeley's actual birthday, we went to dinner and then went fishing at a beautiful, little pond outside of Monticello. Neeley's "bad mama" left the camera at the motel, so I had to take these pictures with my phone. They're kinda crappy, but better than nothing.Brian was catching a trout with every cast. Neeley loved reeling them in, but wasn't so sure if she really wanted to touch them.
Nothing melts my heart like seeing Brian and Neeley enjoying "Daddy-Daughter" time. There is such a special bond between them, and I just love standing back and being a silent observer of this sweet relationship.
Miss Priss didn't want to actually touch the fish. I don't blame her - I think it's kinda gross myself. She eventually decided that the fish weren't so bad and wanted to kiss all of them before we put them back. She is such a sweet, little thing!

Neeley's Birthday Week
We sort of had a birthday "week", Lynette style. On the Saturday before her birthday, we went fishing at Scofield. Not much luck fishing, but tons of fun in the sand and water. Then we came home and had pizza and a Disney Princess ice cream cake with Brian's fam and Russell and Steph and the kids. It was a lot of fun. As you can see on her lips, she had already been sampling the blue frosting. Fun, fun, fun!
